The Ritchey Project

CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT MODEL RITCHEY THIS BIKE IS? Tom Ritchey fillet brazed steel vintage mountain bike frame fork and bars. The pictured wheels are not included in the sale. Serial number 2 R 0 39 indicating - 1982, designed for cantilever brakes and 26" wheels. Dimentions are as follows - 22" center to the very top of seat tube or 20 1/2" ctc & 21" center of bb to the top of the top tube :) Headtube - 6" Top tube - 23" ctc Fork steerer - 7 1/2" & 22.2 internal or for a 7/8" quill, 1" headset (English). Handlebars are 24" wide & are the very desirablle low rise type. Frame takes a 26.8mm seat post. Classic bi-plane fork and bullmoose handlebars included along with the original bottom bracket spindle. Spindle is designed for an old TA crankset - 138mm overall length. Old (press-in) sealed bearings are included for reference but need replacing - old circlips included also. The handlebar has the double quil/expander as pictured. Bars are designed for a brazed on steerer with the clamping bolt, these where probably added to the frameset at some point in time - same (very old paint color with matching patina). The paint has typical marks and scrapes from years of use and some spidering as pictured. Rear brake cable stop has been repaired at some time and is still unpainted - see last picture #12. The color is kind of a desert storm, first picture represents the color very well - others appear a little pink due to evening sunlight. Campagnolo dropouts front and rear, double water bottle bosses.
