The Ritchey Project

Hello, I used to own a 1985 Ritchey marketed by Rocky Mountain Cycles in Canada. I bought it from the now defunct Wolseley Cycle in Winnipeg in about 1986 for $1500.00 CAD. That’s me with my original blue Ritchey in the 80’s. I loved that bike and used it for about 30 years, took it on trips to New York and LA. I sold it to a collector in Wisconsin on ebay in about 2005. I regretted that decision ever since. Last spring I saw this green one for sale in Calgary for $500.00 CAD. I drove 14 hours to buy it. Its completely pristine as it was in someone’s uncles basement for decades unused. I selected Ascent for the model because it is a Japanese import but I'm not sure - all the others in this TIG data base are selected as Ascents but the rear break on my bike is cantilever, not the roller cam mount style of the typical Ascents. Its jade Green and my old one was blue not red and black like the Ascents. Maybe these Japanese ones for Canada market were a combination of Ascent and Timber Wolf? I see in the 86 catalogue the TimberWolf has the Araya RM 25 wheels which my bike has not the RM 20 which the Ascents have. I would appreciate any e-mails giving me more info on these.
