The Ritchey Project

This P-20 frame was sourced directly from Ritchey Europe in Switzerland at the end of the 1996 season. When I first asked whether they had a 20" P-20 frame left, they at first said "no" but then came back to say they had one of Thomas Freisknecht's spare team frames available, which would be approximately 20"-sized, and would I like that? I said "yes"! The Rock Shox SID fork was one of the first in the UK. The bike was built up by Evans Cycles in London. I rode the bike a couple of dozen times (no races) and then stored it carefully for more than 20 years. I got it out of storage last year (2019), had it serviced, put a Brooks B17 Titanium saddle on (I need something more comfortable than a Flite Titanium nowadays) and some Ritchey Shield tyres (unfortunately, Ritchey no longer make WCS Speedmax HDK tyres which were fitted originally and were great). It rides fantastically and I use it all the time!
